I just read TV Tropes' fascinating little page called
Just Here for Godzilla and it was as fun as reading about their Cash Cow Franchise trope. The reason for this is because in both pages I learn how big media works. Specifically what people are in for, the TV ratings, merchandise sales, theme parks, various transmedia, etc. This is inspiration for setting my goals as a media creator.
Anyhow, I know I've been told execution means more than dreaming but just for the sake of fun I'll show you how some of my franchises would look in each of these pages.
Just Here for Godzilla
. The few most important reasons people watch/read/play any Vanguard or other Hardcast Studios media consist of the following: the brutal and overdeveloped fight scenes and violence, the naked women, the Bad Ass of each team (especially Centurion).
. In Vanguard's case, Centurion and Diva, two of the most popular characters from Vanguard, are the sole reason many people see Vanguard. Centurion's notoriously divine brutality and badassery and Diva's sexiness and attractive appearance and voice (coupled with her Ms. Fanservice personality) are pretty much guaranteed to attract viewers to any episode of Vanguard.
. In essentially any piece of media made by Atrex, most people come for whatever basic goal makes each franchise worthwhile but stay for at least some of the characters, including some who aren't the Ensemble Darkhorse.
. Some of Atrex's animated action movies like Metal Ages, Quest for Quaralot, and Halls of Heroes are regarded by viewers mostly for the action sequences (which, considering how they are universally promoted as action movies, makes much sense).
. The same can be said for Streamline's Fighters vs Superheroes series.
. Pinatrix has a few superheroes that attracted many readers to their books and media as the sole reason for coming to them. They include, but are not limited to, the sweet-and-adorable SAN-10 and the hilarious and goofy Sonar Man among others.
. The majority of players in Vanguard Unleashed* are there for the savage killing and destruction along with Centurion and Diva.
. In the case of Vanguard games, the New Morality's* leader is the only playable character in some of the games. As well as the only reason so many people play these games.
. Topfilm's Tobora and The Crypt feature monsters more popular and focused on than any human character in either movie.
Cash Cow Franchise
. Atrex has skyrocketed the bar on new millennium media ever since its inception in 2023. Even though it's no longer making contracted work for other studios, it still has a long history of gargantuan success with each and every one of its brands. From the various theme parks and merchandise to the massive library of media and popular franchises, Atrex is no question unstoppable.
. As the action cartoon capital of entertainment, Hardcast Studios has 10 such franchises: Vanguard, Combatants of the Century, Star Patrol, Team Nutrogen, Kaldar and the Devastators, Legionaries, Robonauts, Gigagators, A.U.T.O., and Street-Stormers. There have been IMMENSE numbers of toys and toy sales, numerous theme park attractions, merchandise selling by the boatload, and all the numerous animated movies and media.
. Each of the latter nine franchises' original cartoons have had immense viewer ratings from their inception well into their 3rd or 4th year. There were also
three Street-Stormers cartoons in the span of a decade and had similarly successful ratings.
. The Street-Stormers movies (and movies based on the other franchises) have broken several box office records and have all been high-grossing movies, to the point where the Vanguard and Street-Stormers movies have each made around $5 billion worldwide-a total of $10 billion!
. The various games have also been considerably successful, with some of the biggest franchises including Vanguard Unleashed*, Hardcast Heroes Assault*, Combatants of the Century, and Street-Stormers.
. The comics often top the charts of comic sales at least twice a year, especially when a movie based on a specific franchise comes out.
. The Pinatrix Interactive Universe* is the video game equivalent to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in terms of overwhelming success and sales. The games usually sell millions of dollars and have helped boosted both the comic and video game industries. Any time a major game in this universe comes out, the comics featuring the game's character top the comic sales charts.
. The Reinforcements are pretty much what the Avengers were in the 2010s for the late 2020s and 2030s. All the movies have sold almost as much any Hardcast Studios movie and they're the franchise Pinatrix Comics puts out the most comics for. They've had a hit cartoon series, a line of action figures with DTV movies, and often have the most successful games in the Pinatrix Interactive Universe.
. Maximatrix and Toonstation have outperformed Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and all Disney channels in terms of viewer ratings and audience numbers. All the video games, animated movies, and boat-tons of merchandise and toys have been met with similar success.
. Toonstation's most successful franchise is Extreme Hour, since the show gets the highest ratings and audience views and the most merchandise sold.
*Vanguard Unleashed- a graphically-violent Marvel Ultimate Alliance-style game based on Vanguard. It will be released in a censored M-rating and an AO-rating, much like how all other Vanguard media is released.
*Harcast Heroes Assault- a 3D fighting game where Hardcast characters fight each other. There is a story to all this as well as beat 'em up story mode.
* The New Morality- the nickname for Vanguard, like the Avengers' "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" nickname.
*Pinatrix Interactive Universe- a universe of video game based on Pinatrix superheroes. The genres of games include open-world, fighting, MAU-style, MOTA/MMO, and third-person action.
